Dear Welder Series… rear axle bracket for factory spring perch?

Dear Welder Series…
I am looking at your triangulated four bar combination 4-link and lower coil-over mounts but I really want to have the three inch tube axle mount cut strait at 90 degrees from the shock mount so I can mount a flat plate to the top and U bolt it to a 1968 Camaro factory spring perch. Just like the kit from chassis works g bar kits.
Can you flatten the top of your mounts for about the same price as your normal mounts or should I just cut them myself I would like the precision of laser cutting but I can get it done if that’s the best way.

Thanks a lot
Tim

Dear Tim…
I understand what you want, Tim. If you get the standard bracket, you will be
able to decide exactly where it should be cut. Lay out the cut lines and use
a band saw or hack saw and grind or file to the line.

If you give us the distance from the center of the lower bar hole to the cut
line, we could lay it out and band saw it for you. $20 should get both
brackets done.

This is creative thinking and we like to hear about it. Thanks for looking at
Welder Series parts.

New Product: Rear Coil Over/ Shock Brackets

We called these new brackets “rear coil over/ shock brackets” because they’re great at mounting coilovers or shocks to your rear axle. It’s a handy name. On the other hand, my name says nothing about me. “DW” isn’t even a word. What was I talking about?

Made from 3/16″ folded steel, these brackets are available individually or as part of a coilover bracket kit. As a coil over bracket, they include a 1″ x 1″ steel block that gets welded inside the bracket to support the coil over bolt.

Dear Welder Series… Dakota rear axle

Dear Welder Series…
Will the 3″ bracket on the triangulated four link kit work on a 9.25 rear end out of a Dodge Dakota?

Dear Billy…
Sorry, Billy, I don’t know the tube diameter of that rear end.  But it is not hard to open up our bracket to nest on a larger tube.  If the tube is smaller than 3″ diameter, a short length of tubing can be cut in half lengthwise to make up the difference.

Thanks for looking at Welder Series’ parts.

Dear Welder Series… 2-3/4″ rear axle brackets?

Dear Welder Series…
Do you make any parallel 4-bar axle brackets designed for the 2 3/4″ S/10 Blazer axle?

Dear Jim…
Our brackets are made for a 3″ diameter tube, but you can make an “adapter” ring from 3″ x 1/8″ wall tubing to reduce the diameter to 2-3/4″.  This adapter only has to go half way around the axle tube. It wouldn’t have to be longer than 2″.

Thanks for asking.

New (oldish) Rear Axle Bracket

It’s new to you, but not so new to a few people in the world.  Namely the people who work here.  This is the axle bracket assembly we used on the ’32 Build, and it was also the subject of a video.  You could say it’s a famous bracket.  Well, I went and added it to the web store so if you have a minute or two you can check it out.  There are two options for this bracket: you can use an aluminum block or a 3/16″ plate to mount the coilovers.  Either way is fine… the aluminum block gives you finer ride height adjustment, and it’s a bolt-in deal (so you’ll have to drill some holes).  The plate option means once you weld the plate, it’s secure (if you welded it properly), and there are no bolt heads showing.

John’s custom axle bracket

John (president of the Central Florida Street Rod Association) sent me this picture of a Welder Series triangulated rear axle bracket he modified into a lower coil over bracket.  I thought the job was so well done it needed to be shared!

If you have used our parts in a unique way, please let me know.  John, there is $5 on your account for letting us use the picture.John's custom axle bracket

Since John modified this axle bracket, we have introduced a shock/ coilover axle bracket: https://www.welderseries.com/blog/online-store/axle-bracket-kit-for-coil-overs/
